Accreditations
SNHU is regionally accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). This regional accreditation means that SNHU has undergone a rigorous evaluation process to ensure that academic standards and student experience match the high standards awarded by NECHE, which is overseen by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
In the U.S., regional accreditation is generally regarded as the most prestigious kind of accreditation as it is reserved for public or non-profit private institutions that meet high academic standards.
SNHU’s business programs are also accredited by the Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), which is a programmatic accreditation reserved for institutions offering high caliber business education.
Note: SNHU degree programs are validated by the U.S. Regional Accrediting body (NECHE) and recognized in the U.S. by the U.S. Department of Education. These degree programs do not have official recognition by Ministries of Education outside the United States.

U.S. Department of Education & Council for Higher Education Accreditation
These U.S. government agencies oversee the six regional accrediting agencies that can award regional accreditation across the country.
New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
SNHU is regionally accredited by NECHE, ensuring that our programs meet the high standards synonymous with a regional accreditation. NECHE awards accreditation to higher education institutions in New England, the northeast area of the U.S, that meet its rigorous academic and student experience standards.
Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)
This programmatic accreditation is given to all of SNHU’s undergraduate and graduate business programs. ACBSP reserves accreditation for business programs that meet their high standards for business education.
